Why the hell is he starting a blog?

Does the world really need another blog? Hey, at least I'm not starting a podcast!

So, as you might have figured out by now, I'm a guy with some health issues. Yes, I have two forms of cancer (PNET and Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma (Kidney)) but I am more than my diagnosis. I love the outdoors, my wife, kids, and dog, y

oga, food carts, climbing, and doing things that push me out of my comfort zone (cancer definitely does that!).

That being said, I have learned and am learning a ton about myself and others. So many lessons. Here are some of the lessons that I've learned so far:

  1. I am much happier when I understand what is going on with me. When others are speaking to me about me and I don't

understand, I don't like it! So I dive into research, talk to as many people as possible, and read as much as I can (and what makes sense for me).

  1. Your friends are your friends until they aren't. Over time, you figure out who you really care about and who really cares about you. And you invest your time where it's mutual. It can be deepening existing relationships, re-discovering past relationships, or finding new friends with shared interests.

  2. There are a lot of people out there like you, you might just have to work a bit to find them. Pretty self-explanatory. Don't be afraid to explore support groups, FaceBook groups, blogs, twitter, etc. You can always find people who care about the same stuff you do

  3. No matter what life throws at you, don't stop living. This is incredibly easy to say, and not as easy to do. But, you can't give up no matter how hard it gets. There are good people out there who want to help. And keep learning and experiencing things, whether its in real life or virtually. Did you know you can take tours of really cool places all over the world online? Well, you can! (HeyGo.com)

So stick around. I can't promise that I will always be fun, but I will promise that I will always be honest and real. And I will share all my adventures here whether they are day to day or bucket list-type things. Who knows, I might even have a guest blogger from time to time! Thanks for reading!
